Crawley Old Girls is delighted and proud to announce that 2 of our players have been called up to play in separate England Walking Football teams!
Karen Dare has attended two trial days, at the Solihull Walking Football Centre in Birmingham, and was named in the squad for the Over 50s, for the Walking Football Association’s England squad. Karen has been playing football with the COGS for a few years now and also referees around Sussex. Karen is a well respected member of COGS who is always willing to help others with her knowledge, through being a coach, and either likes to play at the back or in goal. As a member of another group of mixed Walking Football players, we know Karen has what it takes to be a great team member. Well done, Karen, we’re very proud of you!
Mary Mannion attended a trial, in Romford, and was named in the IWFF (International Walking Football Federation) Over 50s’ England squad to play against the Wales IWFF team, on November 2nd at Merthyr Tydfil FC. Mary also plays Walking Football in a mixed team and is usually found in midfield or scoring goals up front. She has also been known to be a great goalkeeper too. Mary has been with the COGS for a few years and is well respected as a great all-rounder, by everyone. We know Mary will score goals, given the opportunity, and be a great team member as well. Well done, Mary, we’re very proud of you too!
