COGS – Grateful owners of a new, donated Defibrillator – October 2021

We are extremely grateful to be the owners of a new Heartstart Defibrillator, thanks to Andy Moore, and Lee Messling from SW Bruce & Co. Ltd.

For a while now, the Committee has been looking at finding some funding to purchase a defib. as we thought, especially as we have many older women, this should be a priority.  Obviously, sudden cardiac arrest doesn’t just affect the “older” generation, so this would help all our women, if they ever need it.

After a post on our facebook group, one of our COGs, Viv said she had spoken to her son and he had offered to get some sponsorship for us to purchase one.

We then had contact from Lee Messling at SW Bruce & Co. Ltd, who arranged for us to have a portable defib. delivered to us, funded by his Company.  We are extremely grateful to Viv, Andy & Lee for making COGS heart safe and can’t thank them enough for their kind generosity in purchasing a defibrillator for us.

This defib. will come with us to friendlies, festivals and our COGS’ run football sessions and will give peace of mind to not only our COGS but their families too.

The Crawley Town Community Foundation run COGS’ sessions are covered by the defibrillator located at the Stadium.

We sincerely hope we never have to use it but if we need to, we know how grateful we’ll be to Andy & Lee for their kindness.

Sudden Cardiac Arrest needs to be treated as soon as possible and The FA have a FREE Sudden Cardiac Arrest Course on their England Football Learning portal which you can complete at home, in your own time.   It really is informative and you will learn how to recognise SCA and how to deal with it.   Click here to enrol with your FAN no. https://falearning.thefa.com/course/index.php?categoryid=250
